Positive global cues saw the country’s stock market out on the first day of the trading week (May 10, Monday). During this time, both the Sensex and the Nifty opened on the green mark. The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensex, based on 30 stocks, opened at 49495.71, a gain of 289.24 points, or 0.59 per cent.
At the same time, the National Stock Exchange (NSE) Nifty based on 50 stocks opened at 14922 with a gain of 98.80 points, or 0.67 per cent.
Petrol-diesel prices again fire, know today’s prices
The Sensex was up 320.16 points (0.65 per cent) at 49526.63 at 9.03 am. The Nifty was up 69.80 points (0.47 per cent) at 14893.00.
Shares of ONGC, NTPC, HDFC, ICICI E Bank, ITC C, Titan, Doc Reddy, Axis Bank, Reliance, Asian Paints, Sun Pharma, SBI, Bajaj Finserv and HCL Tech opened on the green mark during initial trading today. At the same time, shares of Bajaj Finance, Maruti, Infosys, Nestle India and Ultratech Cement opened on the red mark.
Talk about sectoral index, so all the sectors closed on the red mark today. These include Media, IT, FMCG, PSU Bank, Pharma, Metal, Auto, Realty, Private Bank, Bank, Pharma and Finance Services. Today 1331 stocks gained, 284 stocks declined, while 77 stocks remained unchanged.
